The last several days I have been discussing food labels. You may have the impression that they are probably not telling the truth, or at least the whole truth. You are right. What is a consumer to do?
This is what I do and this is my advice. Choose the highest quality food you can afford. Buy organic, local and cook it yourself. Oh, you groan, thinking I can’t cook, don’t have the time. I will tell you that is the only way you will know what is in the food you are eating.
You are what you eat.
If you fill your body with chemicals and pesticides, you will be sick and toxic. If you eat healthy, nutritious food, you will be healthy. It is as simple as that.
You don’t have time, you say. None of us have time. Do you have the time to be sick? How about a heart attack. That could buy you a couple of months free time or never being able to go back to work. Would you like to recover from a stroke? That sounds like fun. How about wrestling with diabetes. That is a set up for heart disease, kidney disease, neuropathies, amputation and more.
You have the time to cook. Make your health a priority.
