So you are on a diet and have to go shopping! What do you do? Here is success tip # 2.
Be prepared! Make a list and stick to your list.
I plan my meals around the family activities for the week. If we are busy one night, I look up crock pot meals or an easy 30 minute meal. When I have more time, I like to cook more elaborate meals. I event count in “pizza” night. For example, I like big salads. Some times I add 1/2 grilled chicken breast.
From this list of meals, I gather the recipes. I look at the ingredients and make my list. Stay on the periphery of the supermarket. The middle ilses have more of the high fat, high salt and high calorie foods.
A second tip for shopping is to eat before you go to the store. It wil keep your hunger at bay. You will be less likely to be tempted with all the good looking and smelling products.
