I share with you yesterday about picking up a blog challenge for 30 days. I have lots of healthy information that I would like to share with people.

Like you I can get caught up in the stress of every day life. Yes, I face the same types of joy’s and challenges you do, dear reader. Here is a little blurb about me.

I am an RN with 37+ years of experience, including Critical Care, Coronary Care, Home Intravenous Therapy, Home Care, Hospice, and management. I am also an Energy Healer in private practice since 1996. I practice Healing Touch, Brennan Healing Science, Reiki, Sound Healing, Emotional Freedom Technique, Essential Oils and Presence to name a few tricks in my bag.

Currently I work part time as a Hospice Nurse at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton NY. (Yes, I am a real person). I also teach Healing Touch, and classes in Essential Oils. I am developing a Healing School in Harrisburg PA with Emma Newman @ Emma’s Center. We have just completed our first year.

I am married (25 years this past April).  I have 2 boys, both recently graduated from college. 🙂 I have a cat named Xena. I like to cook, read, walk, and talk with girl friends over coffee or tea.

My whole purpose is to become my true self and help you do the same.

Finding your true self can come in many ways. Often people find themself through a serious illness or challenge. Weight is one area that can effect the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health of us Baby Boomer Women.

As far as food goes, I am currently exploring the 400 calorie meal diet from Prevention and macrobiotic cooking.

But I started this blog our with weight loss and stress. Stress effects weight and the ability to lose weight. When we are stressed, cortisol levels rise in our blood. Cortisol is notorious for being associated with weight gain, particularly in the belly. Add this to body changes at menopause and it could be a problem.

Like you, I have a lot of stress. I am working almost full time hours in a part time position with hospice. There always seem to be more work than can be completed in 8 hours. Stress. My husband has been out of work since August 09.  Stress. We put our house on the market last week. Stress. I don’t know where I will be in September or next year. Stress. Currently I am healthy. But the more stress one is experiencing, the higher the incident of experiencing a serious illness occurs.

So I have another challenge for myself along with this blog. I will meditate every day. I will use my HeartMath EM wave at least 5 times a week. I will keep you all posted.

Blessings, Mary Pat
