Drink water. Drink pure filtered water. This is the most important part of your weight loss program.

You need to drink a minimum of eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day. Or, I will put it another way. You need to drink at least 8 eight ounce glasses of pure filtered water a day.

This is very important. Milk doesn’t count. Coffee doesn’t count. Tea doesn’t count. Soda doesn’t count. Juice doesn’t count. Coffee and tea have caffeine and has a diuretic effect. This will dehydrate your body. Even decaf coffee has some caffeine in it. Soda has caffeine and sugar. These are drinks but can not be substituted for water.

You need about 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water. Why you ask? Water assists digestion and elimination. Water helps every organ function better. Every body process requires water. Every chemical and hormone requires water to function properly. We need water to help the body remove toxins that we have eaten, breathed in and rubbed on our bodies. Water helps the kidneys function better. If the kidneys aren’t functioning well, then the liver has to pick up the slack. If the liver is busy cleaning up after the kidneys, it can’t do the myriad of other functions it does for the body. The liver has roles in digestion and maintaining blood sugars as well as a detox organ.

Did you know that sometimes dehydration is disguised at hunger. If you are hungry, drink a glass of water first.

You don’t like water. Hmm. Problem. Try a squeeze of fresh lemon, or lime or orange in a glass of water. Yum.

Drink to your health. Drink plenty of water.
