One of the healthiest foods is wheatgrass according to Ross Bridgeford, the Alkaline Diet Expert from down under.
One serving of wheatgrass is 1 ounce of juice.
When you are harboring toxins and other things, you have to do periodic cleaning. I have been doing several detox’s this month, including kidney, colon, liver and gallbladder. My detox month is winding down.
This past weekend I completed a liver and gallbladder flush.
I have had a series of articles on detoxing the body. We live in a polluted world. We take in toxins by breathing polluted air (do you drive a car or ride public transportation?). You eat food that has been modified and loaded with pesticides. These do not wash off the food. You put all sorts of chemicals on your body in makeup, lotions and more if you do things like tattoos.
This article is about how you can detox the body. Methods to detox
Let’s talk about what can happen as you start a detox program. Detoxification is a challenge for a couple of reasons. They include the limited diet and a healing crisis.
First you may be changing your diet in ways that are foreign to your appetite. You will be eliminating sugar and all sugar like substances. Most of us have a little dependence on sugar. If you eat the standard American diet, you will have a big dependence on sugar. Caffeine products like coffee, tea, soda have to go. Dairy and may also be restricted during the cleans. The food will taste funny and look funny and you may not be satisfied.
The next thing you will experience is a healing crisis. As you start eliminating toxins from your body you will start to have symptoms that include: headache, muscle aches, fatigue, diarrhea, runny nose, depression, and foggy thinking. You may think that you have caught a cold or flu. You might even be tempted to stop the cleanse.
Don’t stop! Jump up and down for joy because your body is cleaning itself out and riding several layers of toxins. Keep doing the cleanse. Drink lots (I mean LOTS of water), more than the 1/2 ounce of water per pound of body weight. Try to drink 12 eight ounce glasses of water. Rest when you need to.
When you finish a cleanse you will be thinking more clearly, have less pain, more mobility, and feel better. It will also be easier to drop the extra weight.

The other day I talked about detoxing the body if you want to lose weight. I talked a little about why our bodies are toxic and some basic ways to start cleaning up the mess.
Today lets talk about where to body stores the toxins and why you want to get rid of them. Also I am going to tell you what I am doing now for my personal detox.
If you want to be healthy, you have to “detox” or get rid of the toxins that are building up in your body. There are two questions that come to my mind when I think about this statement.
One question is why am I building up toxins in my body and the other is how do I detoxify?
Waiting until tomorrow never works. Why, because “tomorrow” is always “tomorrow”. It isn’t “today”.
Start “today” on your weight loss goals. The sooner you do, you can enjoy all the benefits of better health and well-being from the leaner body you will be able to achieve.
If you have been considering a weight loss program for some time, or you have been on other weight loss programs in the past and have not succeeded to date, then today can be the day that you decide to change your current habits. You will give yourself improved health for the rest of your life.
Did you know that even the smallest change that you can make today will be the steps to a new you? As Nike says, “Just Do It!” Take that first step right now.
What am I talking about? What first steps can you take, right now?
If nothing else, decide to drink enough water today to remain hydrated. Did you know that you need a minimum of eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day? This alone makes a great first step towards improving your health and reducing your weight. Water helps the cells to function better. It also helps to detoxify the body. Being hungry can be a signal that you are actually dehydrated. Drink more water. If you drink coffee, drink extra water as coffee is a diuretic and will dehydrate you.
Another small change is to cut 100 calories out per day. Did you know that if you current weight is stable and you maintain the same activity level but cut 100 calories per day, you would lose about 10 pounds in a year. You can do that.
It is very important to like your body as it is right now. You can feel happy about your body. You body does so much for you. Be grateful for it and to it. It hears every word you say. And as you lose weight, feel happier your body.
What is the most important factor? The most important thing is making that change and taking that first step.
Doing that today could be the breakthrough that you need to push yourself to better things in every area of your life. The quality of your life in the future can very well depend on the action that you take right now.

Yesterday I told you that I was going to do a routine Gallbladder Flush. It is part of a interna cleansing routine that I am doing to tune up my health and keep me healthy for life.
Why would you cleanse? And what is detoxing anyway?
Why would fasting help detoxify the body? Good question. When one stops putting toxins in the body the body will begin to release them. The body is really very smart. It will do everything in its power to heal given a chance. Eating onfast food row multiple times a week, eating conventional (not organic, cage free, free range, grass fed, no hormones, no antibiotics, no pesticides, etc) meats, vegetables and grains is not conducive for great health. Sorry, but that is the truth.
We are continuing with the detoxifying the body to loss and maintain healthy weight. Remember that the body stores toxins in the fat cells which will contribute to being obese and difficultly loosing weight.
